For the Egypt trip I was taking a lot of flights (long flights) so I treated myself to a Marie Claire magazine. This is where I read the advertising for Pantene’s Beautiful Length campaign.
A few things have happened during the last few months that has reminded me to be more giving. It’s easy to be so busy and involved in my daily life that I forget. I have always volunteered and contributed to my community but the last year I’ve been a little slack.
Anyway, I am trying to change that. When I read the ad, I decided to participate. Funnily enough, just the week before I read about another blogger who is going to donate her hair as well. What a coincidence.
It’s a good time for me to do this as well. I pretty much tried all the things I wanted to try on my hair, straightening, perming, coloring, highlighting etc. Therefore, I have no urge to do anything to it any time soon. It is currently a bob and in good hair condition. They say hair grows about 0.5 to 1 inch per month, so I’m looking at a time line of 8 months to 16 months to grow out 8 inches.
I am wondering how I am going to wear my hair during this time. Oh well. To make sure all is not in vain in case this campaign end before my hair is long enough, I did a little research. There are a few other places listed on the Canadian Cancer Society website that will take donations.

With hair to the middle of my calf, I can't count how many times people have suggested that I donate!
I understand your feeling...the need to give back. Whatever avenue you choose I'm sure will be great, and you'll certainly feel good about it.
