The reassurance of seeing a professional

Awhile back I had what I thought was TMJ. My jaw hurt so bad that I couldn’t chew without hurting. Finally, finally I made it into my dentist’s office. I’ve been bad and kept changing my appointments. I guess since it stopped hurting the urgency is gone. However, it is still good to have the opinion of a professional.

It turns out he doesn’t think I need a night guard. One side of my jaw is tenser than the other side. Now every night I have to put a warm compress on the tense side and try to stretch it for 5 minutes. This is a better right. Because talking to my co-workers about TMJ it seems to be a much tougher problem to fix. Phew.
