A good weekend

Just got back from a weekend trip to Yosemite. The bf was on business in Sacramental for two weeks, so we decided to go to Yosemite. He cancelled his hotel for two nights and booked a hotel for the same price near the park. Also, since we were both on business trips we could expense our meals.

It was nice. The whole trip cost us gas, $20 in parks fees, and $10 for snacks. It was dry season in Yosemite so there was no water in Yosemite Falls. However, the fall colors on the drive was beautiful and the view from Glacier point was amazing.

We also went to see the Giant Sequoia trees in Mariposa Grove. It was amazing. These trees don’t reach their full height until they are about 800 years old. The oldest tree is believed to be over 3000 years old. We saw a fallen tree and after 300 years it has hardly decayed. Really puts things into perspective. The oldest person in the world is only over 100 years old, the Sequoia is barely grown at that age.
