Free Jewelry Cleaning Advice

Yesterday I met some friends for coffee and got some free advice on how to clean tarnished silver jewelry from the coffee guy (he used to work for a jeweler).

Not that I don’t believe him. But I couldn’t remember the exact details and so I looked it up on the Internet. Exact instructions are here. All you need is a little aluminum foil, baking soda, and glass or plastic container.

I used to use toothpaste. This according to nice coffee man is bad because it's abrasive. This baking soda method is good for jewelry with stones, such are turquoise (my current favorite), that are soft or other pieces that are fragile.
