Usually shopping at the Farmer’s market is a luxury. For freshness I am paying double sometimes triple the price I would pay at the grocery store. However, this summer I learned a trick from my friend.
The Farmer’s Market I go to is open 9am-5pm on weekends. If I show up on Sunday around 4:30pm prices are reduced 50%. I look around to see what I want and start shopping close to 5pm when prices are further reduced. They never close exactly at 5pm anyway. This way I can get fresh fruits and veggies at even lower prices than the grocery store.
As part of my goodbye to summer weekend I went to the Farmer’s Market for the last time this year on Sunday. In the winter everything is frozen so less variety and no discounts.

Wow! The farmer's market is so much cheaper than the grocery store for me!
I know. It is strange that the further my fruits and vegetables have traveled the cheaper they are. You'd think it should be the other way around.
