A chunk off my loan

Today I paid off a quarter of my renovation loan.  It felt good.  Even though this is a family loan, and I've been told that there is no hurry to pay off this loan I still want to pay it down as soon as possible.  I want to start saving up a cushion fund for these property related emergencies, but that starts with paying off this loan first!
